Mark Thomas Wurszt, 48, of Chicopee, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Born in Springfield on February 13, 1974, he was the son of John C. Wurszt of the Czech Republic and the late Marta (Papiez) Wurszt.
He moved at the age of two to the Czech Republic with his family where he lived until 1997. He returned to the United States at that time where he lived in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield and then in Chicopee where he lived for the past 12 years.
Mark previously worked as a glass installer for the Eastfield Glass Company on Pasco Rd. in Springfield. He was an avid fisherman and a forager of mushrooms.
In addition to his father, Mark is survived by his brother, Janusz Wurszt and his wife Teresa and their children, Dominik, Patryk and Julia of Chicopee, his brother, Julian Wurszt and his wife Marcela and their children Beata and Daniel of the Czech Republic, his half-sister, Marianna Wurszt of the Czech Republic, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins both here in the U.S, and in the Czech Republic.
Funeral Services for Mark will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, with Calling Hours from 10am-12noon at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30pm at Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St., Indian Orchard. Burial will be held at a later date in the Czech Republic.
