Michael J. Boduch, 76, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 with his family by his side. Michael graduated from Springfield Technical High School and went on to attend classes at UMass. He worked for the DES for 30 years. He was a long time member of the PAV of Wilbraham, serving as treasurer and on the Board of Directors. He retired from the 104 Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard at Barnes Air Force Base as a Major, after serving his country for 26 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Indian Orchard.
He will be most remembered for his kind and gentle nature. He was generous, especially with his time and talents as he would arrive at a moment’s notice to help anyone in need with any project – you just had to call the ‘handy man hotline’. He furiously loved his family, especially his one true love of 51years. He could be found at milestones, concerts and sidelines proudly supporting his grandchildren. He enjoyed making puzzles and going to the casino. To be hugged by him was to know unconditional love.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret (Peggy) Boduch of Wilbraham as well as his son Eric Boduch (wife Jennifer) of Raleigh, NC, daughter Keri Lee (husband Christopher) of Wilbraham, as well as his granddaughters: Madison, Olivia and Abigail. He also leaves behind a large extended family including his brothers and sisters, Ted, Anne, Paul and Nancy, their spouses and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Henrietta Boduch of Springfield as well as his older sister Joan (and husband Larry). He will be forever missed by all.
Calling Hours for Michael will be on Friday, Aug. 16, from 4-7pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Michael’s funeral will be on Saturday, Aug. 17, gathering at the funeral home at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am in Immaculate Conception Church, and committal services with military honors at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
