Paul R. Lyonnais

Paul R. Lyonnais, 85, of Indian Orchard died at his home on August 7, 2025. Born in New Bedford, MA on January 13, 1940, Paul was the son of the late Eucharis and Viola (Phaneuf) Lyonnais. 

Paul was raised and schooled in New Bedford, and following his high school graduation, he joined the U. S. Air Force and served from 1958-1962 when he was discharged with the rank of Airman First Class. 

Known for his hard working ethic, he started his career working for Pratt & Whitney in their experimental fuels division. He then worked 20 years for UPS, and later worked in the construction field and finally as a custodian at East Windsor High School in East Windsor, CT until he retired in 2000. 

He will be remembered not only for his work ethic but also as a loving and dedicated husband and a family man. He liked nothing more than tackling the many projects around the house with his wife, Judith, at his side. 

Paul was predeceased by his wife Judith C. (Martin) Lyonnais in 2023, and his son Brian Lyonnais in 2021. He is survived by his son, Garry Lyonnais and his wife Dawn of Ludlow, his brother, Donald Lyonnais and his wife Christine of Somerset, MA, as well as five grandchildren, Alexis, Marissa, Jordan, Kellie and Megan as well as two great-grandchildren, Noah and Sophia.

Funeral Services for Paul will be held on Thursday, August 14, with Calling Hours from 10am - 12noon at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 12noon. Committal Services with Military Honors will follow at 2pm in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
