Pauline Therese (Bernier) Grenier, 96, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on April 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada on October 16, 1929, she was one of ten children of the late Leopold and Blanche (Demers) Bernier. Pauline was raised in Sherbrooke and in 1964, she immigrated to the United States, building a life centered on dedication to her family. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted and active member of St. Cecilia Parish in Wilbraham for many years.
Pauline worked alongside her husband as a bookkeeper for Leo’s Glass. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed two decades as “snowbirds,” splitting their time between Florida and Canada. Above all, Pauline’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. As a devoted mother to her nine children, she created a warm, loving home filled with care, guidance, and unwavering support. Pauline was a woman of many talents and simple pleasures. She was an accomplished seamstress, often creating beautiful garments and keepsakes for her loved ones. She found joy in reading and had a lifelong love of words, which made her an exceptional Scrabble player—skilled in both English and her native French.
Pauline was the loving wife of Leopold Grenier for 78 years and the devoted mother of the late Alliette Laughran and her husband Edwin of Branford, CT, Diane Niemiec and her husband Peter of Chicopee, Johanne Mahaffrey of Ormond Beach, FL, Paul Grenier and his wife Lori of West Springfield, Lyne Wenners and her husband Frank of Wilbraham, Sylvie Grenier of Chicopee, Luce Bernardos and her husband Robert of East Longmeadow, Pierre Grenier and his wife Michelle of Ludlow, and Michelle Brodeur and her husband Robert of East Longmeadow. She also leaves 3 sisters: Jovette Bernier of Agawam, Marie-Andre Bernier and Micheline Plourde, both of Sherbrooke, Quebec, 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Cecilia Parish, 42 Main St., Wilbraham MA on Friday, April 17, 2026at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Gift Processing HQ, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 or online at www.kidney.org.
