Richard A. Kaczowka, 55, of Indian Orchard, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 17, 2024. Born in Springfield on November 8, 1969, he was the son of the late Stanislaw and Krystyna (Lizak) Kaczowka.
Richard retired after many years from working in the commissary at the Hampden County Jail and House of Corrections. He loved watching the Springfield Thunderbirds (formerly Springfield Falcons) and old classic TV shows.
He is survived by his brother, Michael Kaczowka of Indian Orchard, his aunts, Barbara Wozniak and her husband, Kazimierz of Ludlow, Sandra Lizak of Wilbraham, and Teresa and Wladzia Lizak both of Chicopee, his uncles, Zygmunt Kaczowka of Connecticut and Frank Kaczowka of Poland. He is also survived by many cousins.
Richard was the brother of the late Mark Kaczowka, and was the nephew of the late John, Stanley and Joseph Lizak.
Funeral Services for Richard will be held on Thursday, November 21, with Calling Hours from 8:30am-10:30am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 11am, and then burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
