Robert A. Frydryk, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on July 16, 2024. Born in Ludlow on June 30, 1942, to the late Joseph and Mary (Soja) Frydryk, he proudly lived in the same house in Wilbraham his entire life. Robert was a 1960 graduate of Cathedral High School and a lifelong communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. In his youth, he played baseball for the St. Mary's teams which were affiliated with the church. He briefly worked for D. T. McCarthy Associates before his employment as a custodian for the Wilbraham Public School system until his retirement. Robert frequently relayed the latest jokes he'd heard. He enjoyed golfing; was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan; could often be found watching golf, tennis and reruns of “Taxi,” “Cheers” and “Frasier” on television; and liked to work on various types of word puzzles.
Robert is survived by his sister, Patricia Dygon and her husband, Carl Dygon of South Hadley; a niece, Arlene (Joseph) Kruzel of Hampden; a nephew, Brian Dygon of Boston; and approximately 35 cousins from the Frydryk and Soja families. He was predeceased by his parents and longtime companion, Eileen Keegan, of East Longmeadow.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 25, with a Calling Hour from 9:30am-10:30am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church at 11am and burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
