Robert Louis Gaudette, 77, passed away February 7, 2024 with his loving family by his side at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer. Born in Springfield on May 18, 1946 to the late Louis and Alfreda (Grenon) Gaudette, he was a lifelong area resident. Bob served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Bob's unwavering patriotism was evident to all who knew him, as he often sported his veteran's hat as a symbol of his service and dedication to his country. At Trade High School, he honed his skills and discovered his talent for machining, laying the foundation for a successful career that spanned decades. Bob's precision and expertise were highly valued in the various machine shops where he worked. Bob was an accomplished and highly rated Billiards Pro. A familiar face in local leagues, he competed and won many competitions, most notably as the Air Force Billiards Champion.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Leah (Lazzara) Gaudette; his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Vincent Pelletier of Wilbraham; his sister, Lucille Davignon of Chicopee along with many other special family members and friends. He was sadly predeceased by his beloved son, Robert Joseph Gaudette in 2017.
Funeral services for Bob will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield with Calling Hours from 8:30-9:30am followed by a Celebration of Life at 9:30am. Burial with military honors will follow at 11am at the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
