Robert J. Grochmal, 84, passed away February 20, 2023 at Bear Mountain Nursing Home in Springfield. Born in Springfield on November 7, 1938, he was a lifelong resident of the city. He worked as a brake man for the railroad for 35 years. Bob loved animals. He enjoyed feeding the birds and his late dog, Precious, always brightened his day.
He leaves his daughter, Bobbie Jo Grochmal and her significant other, Michael Hart of Springfield; his grandson Christopher Grochmal, and his longtime friend Roy Cote. He was predeceased by his wife, Debra (Stewart) Grochmal and his mother, Lucille (Doughty) Grochmal.
