Robert S. Jozefczyk, 88, passed away in the care and comfort of his home on November 18, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Holyoke on February 6, 1937, to the late Paul and Bertha (Kabelka) Jozefczyk, Bob was raised in Chicopee and educated in the Chicopee school system. He made Springfield his home for the past 38 years.
Bob served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1958, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He dedicated many years to the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk and carrier, retiring in 1992. Never one to remain idle, Bob continued working in maintenance at Western New England College for more than 30 years.
The father of the late Karen Superski and William Jozefczyk, Bob leaves his children Paul Jozefczyk of South Hadley, Nicole Blais and her husband Jeffrey of Springfield, and Brooke Abernathy of New York; his partner of 38 years, Ellen Abernathy; his grandchildren, Marie Garcia and her husband Carlos, Kelly Hammond and her husband Lou, Steven Kennedy, Belinda Jozefczyk, Andrea Jozefczyk, Nathan Blais and the late Zachary Blais, and his great-grandchildren, Lauryn Garcia, Alexis Garcia, Alaina Hammond, and Liam Hammond. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Nancy Landry of South Hadley, a daughter-in-law Rosa Jozefczyk of Ludlow, along with other extended family members and many friends.
