Robert W. Lafond, Sr., 81, of Springfield died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Manchester, NH on Jan. 15, 1940, he was the son of the late Real and Cecile (Sevigny) Lafond. Bob lived in Springfield for most of his life and worked in machine set-up and repair for the Milton Bradley Co. for 40 years until he retired. He was a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Fairview Council #4044, and also enjoyed spending time camping and fishing.

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Joanne T. (Greenia) Lafond who died July 8, 2020. He is survived by his two sons, Robert W. Lafond, Jr. and his wife Andrea, and John Lafond all of Springfield, one granddaughter, Kailyn Lafond, and his four sisters, Doris Soucy, Claire Doyon, Diane Dumont and Denise Lafond all of New Hampshire.

Bob will be entombed privately next to his wife in the mausoleum at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield. There are no calling hours.
