Robert Arnold Palmer, Jr., 83, passed away at home on April 28, 2023. Born in Springfield on August 6, 1939, he was a lifelong resident of Western Mass. Robert grew up in West Springfield and was a 1959 graduate of West Springfield High School where he excelled as a basketball point guard. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. After earning a degree in Accounting and Business from Western New England College, he went on to a long career in accounting and finance. Robert played many sports including racquetball, skiing, and was an avid golfer. He also attended many sporting events with his daughter and grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Jennifer Cotto and her husband Danny of Ludlow; his beloved grandchildren, Robert Ayala, Mariah Ayala, and Felix Cotto; his former wife and friends Marilyn Palmer; his golfing buddies for over 40 years, Roland, Dan, and Al, and other family members and many friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 4-7pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. A funeral home service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 9am followed by committal with military honors at 11am at the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
