Robert Remillard Obituary

Robert A. “Bobby Dawby” Remillard, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Chicopee on June 12, 2026.

Born in Springfield on December 24, 1954, Bobby was the son of the late Raymond and Janice (Duquette) Remillard. He spent much of his life in Springfield before making Chicopee his home.

Bobby worked in the construction and roofing industry for many years, earning the respect of those around him through his hard work, knowledge, and dedication. Even after retirement, he rarely sat still. He continued helping others as a handyman, always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. Whether it was fixing something around the house or sharing advice from years of experience, Bobby took pride in helping the people he loved.

A true outdoorsman, Bobby found joy in nature and treasured time spent with family and friends. He especially loved camping, and Memorial Day weekend camping trips became a cherished tradition. An avid golfer and fisherman, he enjoyed countless days on the golf course and by the water, creating memories with those closest to him.

More than anything, Bobby was devoted to his family. He was someone people looked up to - a protector, a mentor, and a steady presence in the lives of those he loved. He had a special way of making people feel important, often giving his close family members memorable nicknames that became terms of endearment and lasting reminders of his affection. His sense of humor, loyalty, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his three sons, Robert Gallagher, Jesse Remillard, and Ethan Remillard; his stepdaughter, April Ramos; his siblings, Bill Remillard, Ray Remillard, Cheryl O’Neil and her husband Sean, Darren Duquette, and Stephanie Lepsch. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends, including his longtime friend and brother-in-spirit, Greg Douglas.
