Rose Cira Obituary

Rose Mary (Skowron) Cira, 102, passed away September 5, 2020 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born in Ludlow on January 5, 1918 to the late Hendryk and Helena (Wozniak) Skowron, she was a lifelong Ludlow resident. A faithful communicant of Christ the King Church, she was a member of its St. Anne and Rosary Sodalities. Rose worked at Ludlow Manufacturing for many years and then worked for the Ludlow school system as a traffic guard. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. Most important in her life was raising her family; she was a devoted wife and mother.

Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph Cira; a son, Frederick Cira; a daughter, Henrietta Brigada on April 8, 2020; her sisters, Sophie Bator and Mary Oszustowicz and a son-in-law Dr. Thomas Brigada.

She leaves a daughter, Rosalie Parylak and her husband Raymond of Ludlow and 2 sons, Rudolph and John Cira, all of Ludlow; her grandchildren: Laura Hibbett and husband Tripp of St. John’s Island, SC, David Brigada and wife Laura of Nashua, NH, Carl Parylak and his wife Heather of Granby, MA, Mark Parylak of Ludlow, Dr. Cathleen Cira-Dickerson and her husband Patrick of Redwood City, CA and Stephen Cira and his wife Wendy Hill of San Mateo, CA; her great-grandchildren: James and Paul Brigada, Dustin Parylak, Sarah, Michael and Eric Dickerson and Cole and Lia Cira and also many other family members and friends.

A public walk-thru visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 4:00-7:00pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield, MA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 assembling at 9:00am at the funeral home and proceeding to Christ the King Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Guests are required to adhere to state guidelines requiring no contact, social distancing, and wearing face masks for all services.
