Rosemarie (Fernandes) Bates

Rosemarie Bates, 69, passed away November 26, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Brookline, MA on April 10, 1951 to the late Albert Fernandes and Alice (Costa) Rezende, she was a lifelong area resident.  Rosemarie was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Ludlow. She was an active member of the Wilbraham and Ludlow Senior Centers. During her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with friends, vacations to Disney with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren and occasionally going on cruises. She enjoyed playing Bingo and loved animals.

She leaves her partner of 27 years, Tony Ribeiro of Ludlow; a son Albert Ouano and his wife Martha of Wilbraham; a sister Janet Santiago of Chelmsford; 2 grandchildren: Nicholas Ouano of Wilbraham and Stephanie Smith and her husband Bradford of Springfield; a great-grandchild Charlie Ouano; her nieces Valerie Santiago of Middleton and Amy Green and her husband Hector of Billerica; great-nieces Alicea, Mya, Ella and lifelong friend Jack Torrao.

A public walk-thru visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 5-7pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 438 Windsor St., Ludlow (meet directly at the church). Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
