Rosemary “Rosie” Ann Green-Lewis, 78, passed on March 6, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center with her two children by her side. Rosie was born on June 23, 1946 in Arlington MA to Edward Massucco and Mary (Faulkner) Massucco. She was a 1964 graduate of Arlington High School, the Shepard Gilll School of Nursing at Mass General Hospital, and the NH Tech Institute where she received a degree in nursing in 1971. For many years she committed her life to helping others as a nurse at Chapin Center in Springfield MA, and later returned to work at Renaissance Manor in Holyoke MA, where she loved greeting families and spending time with nurses and patients alike.
Rosemary’s greatest pleasures were cooking for her family, caring for her animals, swimming in her pool, and spending time at her family camp in NH looking for mushrooms while walking in the woods.
Rosemary is survived by her children: Shelly Green and Shawn Green with his wife Micky. She was the proud grandmother of: Tyler Wilson, Katelyn Roy, and Samara Rose Green of Springfield MA. She leaves behind her brothers: Edward Massucco (Susan) of Keene NH and Donald Massucco (Pam) of Townsend MA. She is predeceased by her husbands: Joseph Green and Wesley Lewis. She was Godmother to Brian, Amy, and Robbie. Rosie also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours are on March 21st from 3-6pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield, with a celebratory gathering afterwards at the Springfield Elks at 440 Tiffany St, Springfield, MA. Her ashes will be spread at a private ceremony with family.
