Rudolph “Rudy” H. Cira, 80, died in Ludlow on November 20, 2025. Born in Ludlow on October 31, 1945, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Rose (Skowron) Cira.
A lifelong resident of Ludlow, he was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Church. He was an avid fisherman, and loved Autocar trucks. He was also a member of the Model A Club, and was active in restoring and showing antique cars and trucks. He will be remembered as having “rough hands, but a soft heart”, for giving more than he took, and always thinking of others.
Rudy worked hard his whole life until the day he died. He started Leo Concrete with his brother Freddie. He was also the owner of Cira Enterprises, Inc., where he worked alongside his brother, John.
Rudy is survived by his brother, John Cira of Ludlow, his brother-in-law, Raymond Parylak, his sister-in-law, Diane Cira, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was the brother of the late Frederick Cira, Henrietta Brigada and Rosalie Parylak, and the brother-in-law of the late Thomas Brigada.
Calling Hours for Rudy will be held on Monday, Dec. 1, from 9am-11am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, Ludlow at 11:30am. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rudy’s memory may be made to the Adoration Chapel at Christ the King Church, 41 Warsaw Ave., Ludlow, MA, 01056.
