Ruth Marie (Percy) Racette passed away peacefully at home in East Longmeadow, MA on October 17, 2022. She was born on April 3, 1948 in Springfield MA to Thomas and Margaret (Harrison) Percy. Ruth grew up in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield where she attended Catholic school. Ruth was a nurse's aid for 30 years working with the geriatric population.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years Roland Racette in August, 2015 and was also predeceased by her sister Eileen Busiere. Ruth also leaves behind her sister, Lorraine (Harrison) Deese, and her brothers, Tommy Percy, Johnny Percy, Chucky Percy, and Davey Percy. Ruth is survived by her children Kelly Racette, Brenda Racette, and Brian Racette and his girlfriend Patricia Joyce. Ruth loved spending time with and spoiling her 3 grandchildren, Thomas, Hannah, and Cassandra. Ruth also leaves behind many nieces and nephews from Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Georgia. Ruth was an avid gardener and took great pride in her home. She also loved Cape Cod and spending time there shopping and walking along the seashore. There wasn’t an Elvis song that Ruth didn’t know and she even got to see him in concert. Ruth was an excellent cook and her cooking will be sadly missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Nowak Funeral Home in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, MA on Monday, October 24th, from 4-6pm. Ruth was quite fond of animals and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Thomas J. O’Connor adoption center in Springfield,
