Stanislaw Pekala, 76, of Ludlow, died February 13, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield following a long and serious illness. Born on Sept. 24, 1948 to Juzef and Janina (Iwaniec) Pekala in Plesna, Poland, a small town close to Tarnow, where he lived for most of his life, before moving to the U.S.A. in 2002 with his wife Alina and son Konrad. He always loved his homeland, followed politics there and reminded all how hard life used to be during the time of communism. Stanislaw worked all his life in a chemical factory in Tarnow. He loved nature, the mountains and the ocean, long walks, swimming and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alina (Banas) Pekala, a son, Konrad and a beloved granddaughter, Julia.
Stanislaw’s family was very appreciative of the wonderful care of the many doctors and nurses at Baystate Medical Center. He left his family with sadness, pain and tears. “We love you forever”.
There will be Calling Hours for Stanislaw on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 5-7pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield.
