It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stanislawa (Wisniewska) Kopec, 73, of Springfield, who left us peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Recently she battled with cancer and showed her positive attitude and her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain Stanislaw stayed strong until the end!
Born in Tarnόw, Poland on November 4, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Franciszek and Julia (Swiatlowska) Wisniewski. Stanislawa moved to this country on Nov. 26, 1983, settling with family in Springfield. Stanislawa worked at Milton Bradley/Hasbro for almost 28 year as an assembler and was known as Stella by her colleagues. She was a phenomenal cook, and enjoyed gatherings with family and friends, especially for Sunday dinners. She was a long-time member and an active volunteer at Immaculate Conception Church. She volunteered in the church kitchen making pierogi and other Polish specialties for their many functions over the years.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Fryderyk Kopec and three children, Teresa Skora and her significant other, Darrin Havanec of Enfield, CT, Robert Kopec of Ludlow and Mirek Kopec with his wife Lindsey of Belchertown. She was the mother of late Boguslawa Kopec. She is survived by her sister, Zofia Witek and her husband Jerzy of Tarnόw, Poland, she was a Babcia to her six beloved grandchildren Christopher Skora and his wife Nicole, Joanna Skora and her husband Corey, Christian, Elizabeth, Juliana and Ava Kopec. She also leaves behind her extended family in USA and Poland.
