Stanley M. “Bijou” Bajorek, 101, formerly of Indian Orchard, died Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the Governor’s House in Simsbury, CT. Born in Springfield, MA on Feb. 13, 1922, he was the son of the late Michael and Apolonia (Tumidajski) Bajorek. Bijou lived in Indian Orchard all of his life until a few years ago when he moved to Connecticut. He was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Church. Bijou worked as a machinist for Perkins Machine & Gear in W. Springfield for 30 years and later for Smith & Wesson of Springfield for 14 years until he retired.
He was predecease by his wife, Phyllis (Mruk) Bajorek as well as his siblings, Julia Misiaszek, Jane Bajorek, Josephine “Josie” Witowski, Walter “Gabby” Bajorek and Anna Maliga. He is survived by his son, Michael Bajorek and his wife Sandra of N. Granby, CT, two granddaughters, Jennifer Solinsky and Karen Lagunowich, five great-grandchildren, Ian, Camden, Hayden, Sasha and Kira, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours for Bijou will be held on Monday, March 20 from 9:30am-11am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Prayer Service in the funeral home at 11am and then burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springfield.
