Stanley Zielinski Obituary

Stanley Stephen Zielinski, 71, passed away February 2, 2020 at home. Born in Osterode, Germany on January 2, 1949, he immigrated to the United States in his youth. He grew up in Holyoke and lived in Chicopee most of his adult life until moving to Worthington in 2019. Stanley served honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. A highly decorated war veteran, he earned many medals and commendations, including the Bronze Star with Valor and the Purple Heart after being shot and wounded during combat. Stanley enjoyed fishing and was an animal lover.

He leaves his son, Jeremy Zielinski and his wife Reine of Worthington and his daughter, Jamie Zielinski and her partner Karl Grohmann of Dedham; his sister, Wanda Hebert of Holyoke; his grandchildren, Levi Zielinski, Nicholas Reid, and Austin Reid; his sister-in-law, Sophie Zielinski; 4 nephews, Matthew and Michael Zielinski and John and Jeff Hebert and also many other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Ludwika Zielinski and Tadeusz Kowalczyk and his brother, Leslie Zielinski.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 2:00-4:00pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services. A Committal Service with military honors will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.
