Steven Christopher Hall passed away on November 7th 2019 at the age of 68. He was born in Springfield to the late Frank & Lottie Hall and was a lifelong loyal resident of the city. Steven graduated from Classical High School in 1969 and went on the UMass where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. He served his country honorably, reaching the rank of Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps. He then served the city of Springfield for 30 years as a firefighter, retiring as Captain.
Steven leaves behind a siter, Sue Albrecht of Springfield and a brother, Pete Hall of Georgia, and children Katie Serafin and Zachary Hall, of whom he was extremely proud. Steve loved golfing, starting as a caddy for Longmeadow Country Club at age 14 and continued as an adult with annual golf trips with his fellow firefighters. He was a great fan of horse racing with frequent trips to the Belmont Stakes, Kentucky Derby, and Saratoga in the summer. He was at home in nature, loving to canoe, fish, and hunt for wild mushrooms. Steve was a unique man - once you met him, you couldn't forget him.
