Theodore J. “Ted” Marczyk, 87, passed away December 30, 2021 at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow on August 4, 1934 to the late Ignatius and Frances (Kicior) Marczyk, he was a lifelong resident of Indian Orchard. Ted was a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. He attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Cathedral High School. From 1957-1959, he served honorably in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the Polish Americans Veterans Club of Wilbraham. For 45 years, he worked for the US Postal Service as a mail handler and had served as a Union Steward. He coached youth baseball, enjoyed bus trips with veterans to sporting events and also watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Ted was a proud season ticket holder to spring training with the Boston Red Sox in Ft. Meyers while vacationing on Marco Island in Florida. He enjoyed reading and taking long walks, especially through Post office Park in Wilbraham.
He leaves his daughters Patricia Dearing of Indian Orchard and Kathleen Gagliarducci and husband Jerry of Wilbraham; his grandchildren, Jennifer Dearing, Joseph Flebotte, Jessica Flebotte and Christopher Gagliarducci; his great- granddaughter Julia Helen Flebotte; his brother-in-law fred Urban of Ware and his sister-in-law Evelyn Urban of Auburn. His many nieces and nephews will miss their Uncle Artie. Ted was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Helen (Urban) Marczyk on March 12, 2019.
Funeral services for Ted will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 assembling at 10:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St., Indian Orchard for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
