Waclaw Blaszczak, 94, passed away March 8, 2021 at JGS Lifecare in Longmeadow. He was born in Poland on November 17, 1926 to the late Wladyslaw and Maria (Osowiecka) Blaszczak. He immigrated to the United States and was a longtime Wilbraham resident and a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Indian Orchard. While living in Poland, he worked as a farmer and in the U.S., he was a machine operator. He also worked with his son at Labuda’s Market where he assisted with day to day operations. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he cherished the time spent with them. Waclaw will be remembered as a very social, outgoing person who loved to be the life of the party.
He leaves his children, Wesley Blask and his wife Teresa of Wilbraham, Teresa Kurowski and her husband Grzegorz of Springfield, Anna Podgorniak of Newington, CT and Stanislaw Blaszczak and his wife Irene of Poland; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Genowefa (Witkowska) Blaszczak in 2014; his brothers Bonek and Marian Blaszczak; his sisters, Czeslawa Pergol, Leokadia Lapinski, Giena Pakiela and Joanna Rosinska and his son-in-law Mariusz Podgorniak.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 assembling at 9:30am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. A public walk-thru visitation will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 4-6pm. Guests will be required to wear masks, social distance and there will be limitations on capacity at the funeral home and church.
