Wanda F. (Muncy) Tindell, 81, passed away December 20, 2021 at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer. She was born on April 27, 1940 in Warriormines, West Virginia, one of 16 children of the late Owen and Myrtle (Hyatt) Muncy. Wanda attended Romney West Virginia’s School for the Blind and was a dedicated member of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) in Springfield, MA for over 50 years. Her guide dogs, Pal and Val, were her beloved companions for many years. In her younger years, she worked for Standard Photo and Goodwill Industries. Wanda enjoyed conversations with family and friends over the phone, a good cup of coffee, cheering on the Red Sox and shopping. She especially loved traveling to visit her family to the south in Baltimore, Virginia, Delaware, and West Virginia.
She leaves her husband Richard Tindell; her sons, Randall Stebbins and his wife Roxanne of Wilbraham and Daniel Stebbins of Ludlow; her grandchildren, Noah Stebbins, Randall Stebbins, Jr. and Matthew Stebbins; her great-granddaughter, Sofia Stebbins; her brother, Leon Muncy of Dublin, VA along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caring staff at Baystate Wing Hospital for the compassionate care and friendships made during her extensive stays. Besides her parents, Wanda was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Stebbins who passed away in 1988.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 9-11am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Funeral Home Service will follow at 11am. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield.
