William T. Colby

William Thomas Colby, 75, passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Springfield on September 25, 1945 to the late Eleanor (Lynch) and Raymond Colby, Jr. A true family man, Billy was a devoted husband, father, and “Dah” to his beloved grandchildren. He took great pride in caring for his home which was the center of family life and he will be remembered for his generosity and giving nature to everyone.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years, Ann (Fetrow) Colby; his daughters: Amy Colby, Jenny Luppi and her husband Thomas and Katie Michaels and her husband Andrew, all of Springfield; his grandchildren: Emily Michaels, Giovanni Luppi, Christiano Luppi and Mia Luppi; a brother, James Colby and his wife Barbara of Agawam; a sister-in-law Betty Colby of Ludlow, along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Raymond Colby III.

The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for all of their compassion and support.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Billy’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11:00am at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., Springfield. Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
