William Patterson Obituary

William “Bill” J. Patterson, 69, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on April 15, 2020. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late James Patterson and Theresa F. (Connelly) Carlson, he spent most of his life in Springfield. After graduating from a Technical High School, he worked for several community non-profits. For many years he was involved in the Special Olympics, where he partook in bowling and skiing. While he loved participating in sports, Bill was also a huge New England sports fan. He was always rooting for the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins, and Celtics, and also loved WWE wrestling.

Bill was predeceased by his brother James Patterson, his sister Elizabeth Dufault and a niece Nancy Dufault. He is survived by his niece Deborah Bassani and husband Greg and his nephews Robert McCarthy and girlfriend Dinneen, Bryan McCarthy and wife Alice, David McCarthy and wife Sherry, and Jack Dufault and wife Amber. He also leaves behind many great-nieces and nephews.
