Wladyslawa Teresa (Curylo) Kopec, 73, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, after a sudden illness.
Born in Dabrowa Tarnowska, Poland on September 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Wladyslaw & Maria (Burgiel) Curylo. Wladyslawa came to the United States in September of 1997 and had lived in Indian Orchard since that time. She was a passionate painter, in oils, of landscapes, florals, and religious themes. Her collection contained over one hundred paintings. She also wrote extensive amounts of poetry and was an avid gardener. She most enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband, Jan. They would have been married 50 years this coming September. She is also survived by her children: Agnieszka Kopec-Robinson and her husband Thomas, Renata Lurie and her husband Jared, Jakub Kopec, and Angelika Kopec and her husband Max, as well as her three granddaughters: Abigail, Ava, and Alison. She is predeceased by her late son, Piotr Kopec (1981).
She is the sister of the late Zbigniew Curylo, and is survived by six siblings, Roman Curylo, Czeslawa Babiarz, Wieslawa Curylo, Bogdan Curylo, Marian Curylo and Edward Curylo.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, March 3, from 9:30-10:30am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Parker St., Indian Orchard at 11am and burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
