Eleanor “Ellie” L. (Stone) Martin, 78, of Indian Orchard, MA was called home on November 29, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Eleanor was born in Springfield, MA, the daughter of the late Edward and Laura (Castor) Stone. Eleanor worked as a cafeteria worker for the Freedman School in Springfield and also for many years at Chestnut Towers in Springfield as a receptionist.

Besides her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her former husband, John J. Martin and a sister, Dorothy Therrien. She will be deeply missed by her children: John J. “Jay” Martin, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Monson, MA; Michael E. Martin and his wife Ann of Springfield, MA; James A. Martin of New Zealand; her daughter Donna J. Moore and her husband Donald Adams of Springfield; her best friend Mary Paine of Springfield; her grandchildren: Cara, Timothy, Thomas, Matthew, Donald Jr., and Brianna; and 3 great-grandchildren and  her sister, Barbara Jangrow.

Services for Eleanor will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, assembling at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield at 9:00 a.m. and proceeding to Mary Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Blvd., Springfield for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 1, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
