Linda and I were colleagues at Kibbe-Fuller School when she was the reading teaching and later as a third grade teacher. One year Linda posted a message on our daily memo that she needed blood donations for an upcoming operation. I had never donated blood before but that plea gave me the courage to do so. I now give blood regularly at the local Red Cross drives. When we were teaching third grade, the science teacher gave us Painted Lady larva that quickly became chrysalises. We had received no instruction on dealing with them. The carnage when they hatched was horrifying. I had gone to Linda for advice and noted that her terrarium was full of plants, the perfect environment for the hatching of butterflies. Many years later I was teaching first grade and we had a unit on butterflies. This time the Painted Ladies had the proper environment thanks to Miss Linda!

I've known Linda for a number of years and was saddened and taken aback when I learned of her passing. I extend my most sincere condolences to the entire family and assure you she will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I wanted to go in person, but transportation difficulties prevented it. I trust in a merciful, loving God to ensure that now Linda will be in perfect painless peace and will enjoy eternal happiness, whether it be musical or otherwise. I hope to see her on the other side.
