Dear Joe B & Family,

I met Nellie in November 2009 at the Travelers. We became fast friends and colleagues. Everyone who knows me knows, I like to give nicknames, so she became “Nells”. We shared the same role at Travelers and just really took to each other. We were very mischievous at meetings, gatherings and would know to give each other a certain look when anything happens whether it was funny or sad. We took bathroom breaks together, she would come to my desk and say ‘banito’ or vice versa. Just silly things to break up the day. I loved Nellie! She was genuine, loving, caring and best of all fun. Towards the end of her time here at Travelers, she knew it and although she tried to fight back she knew it was her time to move on. Once she did, she found that happiness again and I was so happy for her although I missed her blind! She found a job that she absolutely loved. We kept in touch and would often meet for Happy Hours, a group of us. I will miss my Nells, but as a Christian, I know she’s in a better place. No more pain and suffering. I take comfort in knowing that she’s at rest until that resurrection morning when my Nells will get up from her deep sleep and will go on to live with our Eternal creator. I share with you Psalm 30: vs. 5 which proclaims…Weeping may endure for a night, BUT joy comes in the morning.” R.I.P Nellie………………..

Love, Del, Jamahl & Malcolm

I was so privileged to have known Nellie. She had the wisdom of an old soul, the joy an light of an angel; she understood people, and always connected to their needs no matter what she was going through. She loved life. Her visits were so inspiring to me. May she join her father in love ~ and may her angelic spirit bring peace to those who loved her.

Dear Joe and Family,

I'm at a loss for words and my tears fall like rain. She was a trooper through all of this; and, I admire her kind and compassionate ability to always look on the bright side. With all she went through she always had that beautiful smile and strong attitude that was so contagious! I was truly blessed to have had Nellie in my life for as long as God shared her with me! I'm looking to Him to help me get through this devastating void and pray that He, too, will help you all through this very difficult time. Nellie was a fighter, and she didn't leave this world willingly until God made the decision to bring her home. She is in a much better place than we are and that is what is helping me cope with this pain. She truly deserves to be by God's side and reunited with her Dad and Maxine. For that, I smile knowing that there is another Angel looking out for all of us. I love you Nellie! I Miss you and look forward to the day we will be reunited with you as well!

I am so grateful to have worked with Nellie. As we all know she was so kind and caring which allowed us to get to know her in such a personal way. She certainly touched my life with her warmth and love.
