Marian Majocha, 70, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2015, at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pulanki, Poland on July 1, 1945 and was the son of the late Jan and Anna (Galaska) Majocha. He was a longtime resident of Indian Orchard and faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. He worked for Smith & Wesson for 43 years until his retirement. He was also very proud to work for his uncle’s business for many years at Galaska Furniture. Marian enjoyed watching soccer and was an avid gardener, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Marian was the beloved husband of 43 years to Mary (Fido) Majocha; a loving father to Maggie Chace and husband Mike; Barbara Low and husband Kevin; Grace Pollack and husband Devin; a cherished and devoted grandfather of 4: Andrew, Sarah, Gianna and Alyson; a dear brother to Wladyslawa Buczek and Janina Karas; and also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
Besides his parents, Marian was predeceased by his caring sister Teofila Laskowska, and his brothers-in-law Edward Karas and Zenon Buczek.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015, with family and friends gathering at 10:00 a. m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield, and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St., Springfield for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
