Sharon Kathleen Kurpaska, 29, left this earth for heaven November 18, 2016. God granted Sharon peace after a lengthy battle with the disease of addiction. Born in Springfield to Thomas and Kathleen (Carr) Kurpaska, she was a lifelong Wilbraham resident. Sharon was a 2006 graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School and earned an associate’s degree from Springfield Technical Community College. She loved animals, especially her dog, Kingston and cat, Kritter and enjoyed driving her ’97 Toyota Supra.
Sharon was adored by her family members who were always there to support her through the ups and downs of life. She looked up to her father, to whom she was especially close and was proud of her brother, always praising him for never giving up in pursuing his dreams in the face of extreme adversity. Her mother was her rock, whom she could always confide in.
She will be deeply missed by her devoted parents, Thomas and Kathleen Kurpaska and brother, Patrick Kurpaska, all of Wilbraham as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her grandparents Edward and Sophie Kurpaska, and Edward and Barbara Carr, as well as her sister-in-law Briana.
Her family wishes to thank Tom Foye for his guidance and encouragement, Mark Mendes for his love and friendship, and Peter Laviolette for his incredible respect and kindness..
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 assembling at 8:30 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield and proceeding to Gate of Heaven for a 9:30 a.m. service in the Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
